Studies say by the end of the year
some lakes will dis-
appear alarming people

frequent them more
knowing the lake will not be
a lake I once misplaced

my mother my maiden
head or tails I believe
it’s quicker to find myself an empty

glass than to find some-
one who has never lost
a lake a wife three jobs define

aggression
micro
means unit a family a house-

boat on cinder perched
on blocks even the marina
even deboned the docks’

ribs kindling dry someone
has taken their heads
their tails
